Scotch-Brite Greener Clean Absorbent Sponges

I have used Scotch-Brite brand sponges for as long as I can remember - one for dishes and one for cleaning counters and usually go through each sponge about every 2-3 weeks (then we reuse them until they really fall apart for cleaning the bathroom, floors, outdoor things...). I am also trying to use more and more eco-friendly products and when I found these I was pretty excited to try them. First of all they are made of natural and recycled paper materials - a big plus since sponges are usually made of synthetic, non renewable materials. Second, these are BIODEGRADEABLE! So you don't have to worry about a negative effect on the environment. Third - these sponges work really well! They really are super-absorbant to soak up spills (and just wring it out to wipe things down) and work better than a dishrag! They are pretty soft too which means they won't scratch dishes, table tops or anything else.  And when it gets a little stinky, we put it in the dishwasher to freshen it up but you could also hand wash it in laundry soap and sometimes soak it in vinegar then hot water to eliminate germs. I have been using these sponges for a few months now and they hold up very well (longer than synthetic sponges I think). If this lasts longer than the average sponge, then not only is it a "GREENER" sponge but it will save some green as well if I don't have to buy them as frequently! :)
