This is the weekly hop for GREEN bloggers to meet up and share one new green goal each week.
THIS WEEKS THEME IS: switching to natural bath, body or beauty care products. Over the past few years, I have been switching out many of my usual brands for shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, facial cleansers, etc. and lately have been trying out some new products. Normally I would purchase the least expensive brands but I am really trying to care more about what chemicals go down the drain as well as what I am putting on my body! I really love Nature's Gate hair products - I've tried a few types of shampoo and conditioner and love the way Nature's Gate Tea Tree Calming
So this week, I would like you to tell me about a product/or products that you have or will switch to natural - please leave a comment below after linking up to the blog hop.

I have recently switched out my chemical laden shampoo and conditioner for an all natural, vegan shampoo/conditioner bar from EthicallyEngineered on Etsy. (here's a link - in case anyone is interested http://www.etsy.com/listing/75742666/3-pack-of-gear-head-vegan-organic) the stuff is fantastic. I have also exchanged my chemical laden body lotions for all natural cold pressed organic virgin coconut oil. Works WONDERS! I'm still searching for the perfect body wash. That's my next project!

I have been switching our products over the past couple of years. We use Whole Foods brand shampoo and conditioner - works well and is a good price. For soaps I like Trader Joe's oatmeal and honey. I also tried my hand at making lip balm - so easy and really nice. Next step for me is deodorant and makeup.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm a little late at posting this (oops!) But I wanted to let you know that I'm following your blog from the Green Mama Blog Hop! Thanks so much for linking up! I enjoyed your post about switching to more natural bath, body and beauty products - I've been hunting for a new shampoo and conditioner. I think I'll pick up some Nature's Gate and give it a try! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day,

I am slowly switching our products over. There is seriously so much crap on the market that people think is green but isn't at all. As a side note this 'green' deodorant is not working in this hot weather today.
